Not a factory order but when I did the search for the truck this was the only one in the country. Lucked out it was only 1.5 hours away so I couldn't hold out any longer and traded the 97' 4x4. I am glad I did even with 10" of snow right now. Mods have been minor as of right now Spent all the money on exterior stuff and winter tires.

IAT adjuster
K&N air filter
Flowmaster cat back 3" tail pipe
dremel ported stock throttle body
removed 90 in air box, all baffles, and flap on right side of rad
TPS put from .52 v to .76v

I am going to to get a intense perf Z-tube and traction bars. It wheel hops pretty good in the soft snow as well as a little on dry pavment.

Ya they are fortunatley pretty rare. As far as I know mine is the only one in B.C. Someone tried to buy it the sunday night it arrived. I even ordered it without A/C to reduce weight and pulley drag but got power windows and rear slider. Vancouver stays relativley cool so the A/C wasn't necessary.

I have the Lakewoods and they do make a big difference. No wheel hop at all. They are cheap and easy. I didn't want to screw with the suspension just yet and they just bolt right on.

I also got a 3" cat back. My favorite mod not as much power gain as coldair intake but people love the growl.

Just wait till you do the intake. You can really hear the engine scream under the hood at WOT. Sounds like a 70's muscle car. The stock air intake is actually a muffler also.

I had to have mine transfered from another dealership to get the color and options i wanted. They are very rare in RC 4.7 5spd 3.55 or 3.92 LSd form, then start throwing in options you want and its very hard to find the "right one".

This truck had about twice as many options as I usually drive, sport plus, handling pakage, light group, air, keyless entry, theft security, power windows, locks, mirrors, bed liner, cdplayer with infinity sound but I like the options. The air is not a option here, last summer it hit over 35 degs celcius lots, think that is 100 degs fahrenheit.

Kicker01 did you notice a decent increase with the 70mm throttle body and intake. I was reading on speed tweaks that they only show a 1hp diff from a 68mm ported, what ever they mean by that, to the 70mm. Just curious what your thoughts on it were.

I had removed the flap on the right of the radiator. I recently replaced it when I installed my K&N.

What is the factory purpose of the flap anyway? To protect the AC lines and windsheild washer pump? To direct air through the radiator rather than around it?

It must have a purpose as it appears to me to be a Dodge "after thought".

I assume the benefit of removing it is to get additional cool air around the engine.

Mine was sitting on the lot. They said that it had been there for 6 months so I got a good deal. I didn't know what I was buying untill I raced my brothers car and beat him.

I am not sure of the real purpose may be for looks or to help air go into the rad but I towed with my last truck and never had problems with overheating. I took it off to get a staight shot of air right ot the aircleaner. I have a Lund summer front in to screen out the bugs and debris before they hit my air cleaner.

My K&N heat sheild is positioned so that the air allowed into the engine compartment as a result of the flap removal would not reach the K&N filter.

My benefit would be additonal engine cooling, I guess. I will watch my temp and may remove it next Houston summer.

This truck runs very cool. Much cooler than my previous 5.2 The rad is even bigger than a 5.9 and the engine holds more oil. I don't even have a clutch fan and the electric is almost never on.

The flap is probably to protect from debris entering the engine compartment IMHO. I am going to build a larger tube right up through that opening that will lead back and wrap around my cone fillter.

CW can you give me some details on your Dremel ported TB. What and how much did you remove? How did you do it? Results?

I also got all those other goodies but replace the CD player with an after market anyways. The Infinit speakers are decent but the CD player wasn't great.

Thanks

There is a lip on the throttle body before the throttle blades that resricts the air going in. I took out the lip and made the opening slightly bigger than the throttle blade. I used sanding rolls to remove the lip, it knocks the 68mm TB down to about 65mm. It isn't what a 70mm tb would do but it is a nice increase for a little money.
