Subject: Question? IP: Logged
Message: I have a 5.2 4x4 auto with a K&n Intake, flowmaster Catback, 180 tstat, and 3.92 gears. I was wondering what i might run in the quarter mile. I know it would be slow but i would still like to know. And also i just ordered a 50m flometrics tb, and jba headers will i notice a difference once intalling those.
Thanks John

Message: I can't tell you what you'd run, but you can use this as a comparison. 2000 CC 4.7 4X4 3.55 auto with a gibson single and airaid...my best was 16.4 at 81.5 under great conditions, 16.9 at 79.5 under lousy conditions and not broken in. With your mods and gearing I'd expect very low 16's or high 15's in the 80-85 mph range.
Every time I've run I've had to deal with the humiliation of a friend running his 99 Trans Am LS1 6 speed with a few minor mods...13.1 at 108-109. If I could only get his driveline in my truck...One night whe I just went to watch I happened to see a substantially modded 911 twin turbo...11.1 at 131, short-shifting in 1st and 2nd because when boost would hit he'd break loose. I experienced naked lust that night, and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

Message: Anyone have a guess about how my '97 CC 5.2 auto 2wd will do in the quarter with a couch in the bed and my 320 lb friend in the passenger seat? What about while towing my boat?
Please reply!

Message: I dont know about that one dude but while coming back from vacation with the inlaws I stopped at Bristol and ran a 18.456 at 67 with a 423LB mother in-law and my 95LB wife riding biotch. Thats with a 4.7 3.92 and a 5 speed and a homemade lowering kit I was riding like 1 inch off the ground and to the right! LOL!

Message: How about this one.
Anyone know how fast my '97 5.2 auto CC 3.55 with air-conditioning and clear corner lenses will do in the 1/8 while chained to an oak tree?
What about if I put one of those truck jacuzzies in my bed and filled it full of water and had all my buds back there? How fast would I be then? Oh yeah, my wheels are polished, please add that into the equation. And I have a sticker on the back window.
Really people, why do some folks ask these questions? If we told them, what would they do with the info? There is no way possible to determine how fast you would be without YOU being in the driver seat and YOU being at the track.
Now stage 'em!

Message: Don't forget that stickers (especially yellow ones) improve performance. According to beaterz.com, more stickers = more performance. More yellow stickers = huge gains in hp. Stickers seem to show the greatest performance results on compact cars, but their hp can be felt on other vehicles as well.

Message: You also gottta remember to add those new blue headlights and yellow fogs. .5 sec I heard from that guy. Then add blue or green turn signals in the front. Probably another .2-.3 there.
(I took out my back seat so I must've gained a little, RIGHT!?!?)
Had a ricer tell my friend the other day that 'since my friend's Firebird had quad tipped exhaust that it could out run the ricer sitting next to it with dual tipped exhaust'.
