Subject: Catback 2.5" or 3" for a 3.9 IP: Logged
Message: I was just wondering,
is it better to go with a 2.5" or 3" on a catback for a 00' 3.9 v6 ?
Or would you loose out power with a 3" ?
If anyone has put a catback on there's
which is the best way to go..
thnx..

Message: I talked to a Flomaster Rep. and he said that a 2.5"
in and a 2.5" out single OR a 2.5"in and dual 2.25
out or dual 2" out should work the best for our
Trucks with the 3.9l.

If you don't want to spend a lot of money or don't have a lot of major modifications just change the muffler to a Flowmaster, Gibson or DynoMax these are Full Flow ( less restriction than factory ). The factory system is 2.5" Stainless Steel. I bought my DynoMax SuperTurbo from Summit $32.00 + handling with lifetime warranty. Also go to Speedtweaks web site http://www.speedtweaks.net/ click on Tips & Tricks this should help you out also. I would be glad to e-mail you my install photos if you like.
