Subject: G-Tech Pro Qs IP: Logged
Message: Been away from here too long, having a blast reading the posts about this G-Tech (Pro) thingy.
Went to their site, is there a better price than $139 plus $10 for shipping to be had? If so, where?
Question: Does it store multiple runs or only display results from one run at a time?
Can you really believe in the HP ratings?
Got me a heavy 2001 4.7 QC with auto and AWD, gotta be around 5000 pounds with me in it...interesting to see what the G-Tech will show what it does, especially without any shifting screw-ups and not hooking up traction wise, what with having a Auto and AWD.
And I thought I wasn't gonna buy any more toys for my truck, but hey, X-MAS is near...

Message: i have a g-tech pro and they are alot of fun. the only thing that took me a while to figure out is to leave it mounted in one spot. i kept taking mine in and out of the window and was getting very inconsistent results. i've since mounted it in the ash tray where i leave it at and now it is very consistent. no it doesn't store any runs. i don't know about the h.p. if it is close or not. it shows me 245 h.p. i'm planning on getting it on a dyne soon, i'll let you know about the results.

Message: Hey Mace! Yea the G-tech is the most fun my fat bald middle aged butt has had in a long time! remember a while back we had a "discussion" about keepin it stock. OK I was wrong! HAHA! The g-tech is great fun. Plus it give you a better understanding of your truck's functioning with mods. As for the HP readings, it measures the weight of the truck vs the accelleration, but it also measure the affect of wind resisitance which may take away from your net hp.
Hey hope you got the TB/intake deal worked out.

Message: DR Q: Dabbling on the Dark Side is fun, yes?
I can't remember my last new vehicle that I bought, that was kept stock...even the wife's 4-cyl '98 Voyager has some goodies added.
BTW, I did get the TB/Intake deal taken care of...thanks Bernd and John from Intense Performance!
Gonna do it, I found a web site selling the G-Tech Pro for $134.99 plus $5.25 for shipping.
Now gotta find a nice stretch of flat road, at least 1/4 mile long...throw a little 93 octane in, turn O/D off, power brake to around 2k RPM, and let her fly, and repeat often.
Give me about 1 week to 10 days and I'll post the numbers from my weighted down QC with Auto/Awd/tonneau cover (with wing!), and my 200 pound body in the driver's seat.
BTW, I've seen posts back to 1997-1998 re: this G-Tech Pro, reading their web site, I was under the impression this was fairly new, but what the hell, I haven't had a new toy for awhile. And not one bad post re: this thing...later!

Message: Just remember, the G-Tech is only accurate (or close to) is you have the correct/exact weight of your vehicle w/driver.

Message: Hey Bernd:
I agree re: the weight. I though I saw a tag showing 4801 pounds for my truck but now I can't find it again. Registration is bogus, it say 6100 for weight/seats.
Is there anyplace to find out what a 2001 QC with Auto and AWD weighs, get me a close number and I'll add 300 pounds to that for the tonneau cover and me.
Thanks.

Go to: http://www.skulte.com/gtech.html
I usually go to www.cnet.com and do a search 'THE WEB' on new products I buy, you'll get hits from quite a few who offer that product, then you can compare prices.
BTW, looked at my Title, shipping weight for my truck is 4731 pounds, I'll be programming in 5031 on the G-TECH PRO before doing my runs.

Message: If you have a local "Rock Yard", they normally have scales that you can drive up on to weigh the vehicle. We've got a local truck yard with scale (and track with scale as well) and i'm at 4096lbs (4100 rounded up) with 3/4 tank and my (180lb) self in the truck. - '97 CC V6.

Thanks for the info re: the scales
I forgot about the weight of gas, that could be a additional 192 pounds or so, idea is to obviously do the runs with the least amount of weight (and gas)
Thanks.

Message: A update:
http://www.skulte.com/gtech.html no longer offers
the G-TECH Pro, looks like I'll be ordering it from G-TECH or from a non Mopar web site (thunder racing) whoes shipping is a bit less than G-Tech's
via UPS instead of priority mail.
