Ok here is the deal, do me (and lots of us a favor)imagine for a second you have a 2000 CC 4.7 with 3.55 gears. You have money just not money to waste. You want the meanest truck for your buck, but like lots of us dont want to void much too many warrentied parts. WHAT DO YOU DO??? Which parts, from where, and how much. Also what does this do to your 0-60 and your 1/4 times. What other cars/trucks can you expect to beat etc. lets here it.

thanks

Mopar PCM, Cold Air Intake (Z-Tube) w/K&N Filter, decent aftermarket muffler or replace with Cat-Back. If you can afford it, 3.90:1 gears as well.

That's on a budget. If you want to really have a mean truck, Kenne Bell S/C with Flometrics TB along with the above parts...minus the Mopar PCM. (About $6000)

o-60 should be noticeably decreased but couldn't say for sure without asking someone else with like mods and truck.

What other trucks can you beat? Probably a majority of the "stock" ones. When you start playing around with modified trucks, speed costs money.

Bernd...how come you have to get rid of the Mopar PCM if you get a super charger? Could you have one and just have it reprogramed for the super charger?

I stated to get rid of the Mopar PCM (meaning the Mopar Performance PCM) since th eadvance curve is too agressive for a Supercharger. Marty (KRC Performance) offers the custom programming for the 4.7L's at a $600 charge.

Sheesh Jonas!

I'd like to be as PC as possible here. Bernd is lauded as an expert because he's done alot to his truck and is obviously a regular. But Bernd is no one's babysitter. We can't all go directly to Bernd and have him weigh in first. Take some time to look around!! Use the archives, read the posts from the last few days. Your question is a bit unfair to everyone here, because many of these items have already been answered in the last 3-4 weeks, and probably dozens of times already before. You ask for so much in one post--buy this and this and this from these 3 vendors, you'll gain X HP (as evidenced by this here dyno!!) and you'll beat Brands A, B, & C's models X, Y, & Z, but only if you follow these 10 installation tips and keep in mind these 40 caveats??!!

You can't expect to learn everything all at once, and you can't demand it from one person in particular just because his name shows up more often than another's with a cursory review of the website. Look around, get comfy, read a little...then ask.

OK DAN!
Here is the deal, Yes Im kinda new to the modified truck thing, but not to finding out what I need to know, I have read the post, I have settled in and I have done my own research, now If I would like to ask the opinion of someone who I believe knows better than myself and many other, based solely on reading his other replys, that is my option, and if he (bernd) so choses to help me that is his option. Also if you woould settle down and take a look around at the other post you may realize that the post with the most hits and feedback from others, are the ones that include bernd's name, and/or have posts by him. So maybe I put the title in all Capital letters and put Bernd's name it it not only to pull him to answer, but to also get a mass of answers and debates from others. Anyway HAVE A NICE FREKING DAY.

JONAS

Hold on there for a second Jonas...Dan is correct in what he stated about going to me. I have done a lot of research and testing for what works and what doesn't, but on a few of those mods, some are also application specific (V6 Supercharged). I try to be as "generic" as possible on the other engines since some respond differently than others. As for the experience: 3.9/5.2/5.9 mainly with some on the 4.7L. I check with another contact on the 4.7L mods (and dealers as well) to see what works as well.

I do appreciate the direct questions but to avoid any conflicts with other people on the list, you can send them directly to me: bernd@texas.net.

Bob,
I'm jealous. I pick on all brands of cars too. Don't you like me? :-(

All the stinking manufacturers are making money off of us "enthusiasts" and we argue with each other on which brand is best. How dumb. That's my .02 worth. Now I'll just climb off of my soap box and go back to work.
