Message: Well I was looking at my truc today and said to myself, Said Self, What can I do to keep me occupied, lets see. Yeah I was going to do the TPS mod, so I wipped out the old volt thinggy, and lo and behold my Voltage is perfectly at 1 volt. I hear .7 to .75 is the best range to have it. Should I try and get it around there or just leave it alone?

Message: What year truck do you have? Did you use a digital voltmeter? Did you set it to the DC V? Where did you ground it?(I used the neg battery post). Where did you check V+ from? (Should be from the middle wire of the TPS sensor connector)

Message: After still playing around with it, and testing it on some small small batteries I have come to the conclusion that the meter I was using doesn't go below one volt, only going above one by decimils. But I did get to take the air hat off and look at the throttle body, It's filthy! Guess I know what I'm doing this weekend. I also noticed that the intake manifold was sort of dirty inside but i guess there is nothing I can do about that.

Message: I need some help, my TPS voltage stock was .61 so I drilled out the brass and set it up at .74, at the same time I removed the factory air hat and replaced it with a Rubber 90 and small length of PVC to my Quickfit Air Raid Cold Air Dam. My problem is that when I rev up the engine the idle takes much longer to come back down and the idle is now at 1000 rpm where I am pretty sure before it was at 500 rpm while idling. Is the computer still learning the mods I made or is there something wrong? HELP

Message: Thanks for the quick responses guys, but it appears it was a false alarm. After takin my baby out for a spin for a bit, engine returns to idle as it should, but is still a little over 500 RPM. I did everything by the book, adjusted the voltage with key in on position but engine off and then put on TB intake connect to cold air dam without removing TB(that will occur when I order 4.7 Performance package with TB, Z tube and IAT adjuster from Bernd:). Maybe my puter is just a little slow to accept mods but either way, glad my meticulous workmanship paid off, intake sounds awesome through my Flowmaster exhaust and throttle response is quicker. Once again, this site and everyone on it is awesome! Oh and my slips are sealed about band camp...

Message: Ok, this may be a dumb question, but can I make the same TPS adj on my 94 5.2 w/5 spd. It seems to have a lean hesitation just off idle. I've got 180 t-stat, plugs, dual snorkel muslecar style air filter. Soon to add Thorley tri-Y headers (in the garage now).
Thanks, Bill.

Message: How do I test the voltage? I want to change my 02 4.7 Dakota but I am unaware of the EXACT instructions. I understand that I need a digital volt meter. I have to set it to DC volts right? Is there a website out there that shows pictures and specific instructions? As you can tell I am a little afraid of totally screwing the truck up. It is my true love. hahah! Thanks for all your help guys!
