i tested a wrx in september and the salesman was an ex-rally driver. most amazing driving i have ever seen in a stock car on DRY roads. he was dumping the clutch at 4500 and breaking the tires loose. now, how many times can you do this until the tranny drops? you can't dump a clutch every time you get a chance drag.
sure the evo is faster but you guys are putting it up against a car with 40 less hp. wait until the wrx sti comes out this summer. awd, 6-speed, 280hp in a 3000lbs car will most likely pull mid 13's. not zo6 material, but definitely stock vette competition.

The new STI is tough! Once Subaru found out just what Mitibishi was bringing over, they upped the ante'. The engine was bumped up to 2.5L and is putting out 300hp w/ tne tourque right there with it. They also brought it over with a 6 speed and the fancy shmancy computer controlled LSD. This is stock folks, very little cash will have this thing in the twelves IN THE RAIN! I'd buy it if I had a spare 30Gs lying around. The 2004s look so much better, check this out... http://www.impreza.subaru.com

yes I smoked my brother in-law's with my slightly (>$700) modded 00' R/T cc. It was controlled too, no start at 45mph and "race" to the next light crap we played around for a good half hour. It rips on the curves, actually I shouldn't say I smoked it because from point a to b in a straight line yes, but throw in some variables like twisties and he eats me up for obvious reasons. He LOVES my truck though and is thinking about going with a blown durango r/t.. his rice ambitions are slowely coming to a hault, but I have to say for a rally car it's great. I've driven and enjoy it but it's not my thing but if massive handling and a more than peppy sub-compact/rally are what your looking for there's not much better than the wrx for under 26k. I just ordered a sc for my r/t though so it should get interesting heh'

any conversation that puts a wrx against a dak and posts THIS many responses leaves something to be said about our trucks. Yes they both roll but $hit what are WE going to do when we need to pull the waverunners/bikes etc... ask our wife/gf???
