That 4X4 RAM would drag that Taco upside down like a dead bug! (or like a b*tch you're dragging by the hair)! Whichever image that gives you, that's a good comparison.
If you get a truck, get one with some metal in it and some REAL torque. I do hear that the engine management holds the HEMI back quite a bit. I think I actually took one once with my 4.7 Dakota as far as acceleration goes.

The lighter Taco would probably be better at the Dunes I bet. If you get that RAM 4X4 stuck, what is gonna pull YOU out?

And yet another update... now my F'n steering rack AND a trany line are leaking on this Hemi of mine... what a dumbphuk I was for moving to Dodge!

I shat you not... after three tacos (7-8 years worth)and nary at single trip to the dealer for a repair of ANY kind... (no leaks either)

I'll take the Taco any day.
One Dodge is all it has taken to remind me of how good a Toy really is.

BTW... with the new Taco's out, there really aint sheit ya Dak guys can say.
Performance, resale, value, etc... it all belongs to the Taco. (but I do think its ugly compared to the old model.. crap)

you weren't a dumbphuck for switching to dodge, you just ARE a dumbphuck. nothing a dak guy could say huh? how about V8? toyotas idea of performance is a TuRD badge. just go buy back your taco and stop b*tching. you'll have plenty of time to do that if you ever pull up next to me. a toy is just that, a toy, not a real truck.

Either way... dumbphuck for fooling with dodge. Period.
Ok.. with your mods, you might outrun a new Taco. So what? Your truck will still be a rattling, squeeking, dealership-visiting p.o.s.
Oh... and dont even consider going up against a Taco off-road... but you know that already?

Dont get me wrong... I really do think that Dodge has made ALOT of improvements. And I really do want to think that my Hemi is a quality buy. But it simply is not.
There are just too many little things wearing too quickly, odd noises poping up, seating seams starting to pull apart @ 23K miles... It's just a "cheap" truck stuffed with a bunch of "cheap" materials.
It stands on features, not build-quality.
And on top of that I'm a bit "buried" in the truck, and I bought it $10K under sticker on the employee green-sheet plan.
When I was selling I would see domestic truck/car owners come in trying to trade all day long. It was truly pathetic to see some of the bids that came back.

bought my dakota new in 2000 and haven't had a single problem with it. no rattling, no squeeks, and only routine dealership visits for oil changes and the like. call it luck or call it quality, but i'm completely satisfied with mine. and no I wouldn't go up against a taco off-road because i don't have a 4x4. i'm not going to argue off-road capabilities of any truck because off-road isn't my thing. sorry your truck isn't up to par on your expectations, but you should have read and researched and read some more before you bought. surely if you aren't happy, then there are others who aren't either and you could have gotten opinions from them somewhere on the internet or elsewhere. before i bought my dakota, i researched as much as i could, got the info on all the little and major problems with them and the good stuff about them and then decided to buy because anything that popped up i would be expecting. therefore i haven't got a right to b*tch about what i bought. in my case nothing has popped up and my research paid off. but whatever. you don't like your truck, fine, but at least buy american(i would go with ford instead of chevy) instead of that jap-crap.

I've romped the piss out of my 4X4 Dak more than once.

Lately I've decided NOT to tear it up anymore.
Got some videos to go back and remember my abuse to my beloved Dak:

Right click and select "save as". for some reason these files freak if you just click on them and Windows Media PLayer attempts to stream them. Save to your hard drive (desktop for instance) then play after it downloads.

Now that's romping your truck.

Could you please define "romp". I watched your videos, sorry, that is not hard core wheelin. Fun, I'm sure it was, but you haven't done anything that my Dak hasn't done, or with the right driver, any taco or ranger or zr2 can't do
