Anyone see what they are replacing the Camaro with? It is a half car, half pick-up that seems similar to the El Camino. I hear they are pretty powerful. A little competion for our V8 daks maybe?

Yes indeed, you are right. Chevrolet is gonna be producing the once a concept Chevy SS. It is the meanest looking vehicle I have seen yet..kind of like when the viper came out. It is supposed to have more horsepower than the SS Camaro, and is gonna be the new competant for the Ford Lightening. It is Chevrolet's Truck comeback. I think it is about time they bring out something that is gonna stand for what Chevy really means

You are either talkin about the SSR, which has a small v8 in it, maybe mid 14s stock, or the silverado ss, which is HUGE and has a 6.0L v8, over 400 horses and still cant break into the 13s, and both trucks are goin for over 40,000 bucks, i wouldnt worry about it, the ssr comes out next year and the silverdao ss aint comin out

Last I heard, the SSR will first have a 5.3L Small Block with 285hp. THat's it! No 6.0L.

I think Chevy needs to get off their butts and give the people what they want. A Chevy Silverado 454 SS. Either that or go with the 502 SS instead. I garuntee people would be buying these trucks like hotcakes.

Its a Holden SS UTE from Australia. Its going to be the new El Camino. The SSR is different, its a roadster/pickup. Its pretty hard to find info on the new EL Camino but it is supposedly coming the end of this year as an 03 model.

Dodge finally got some balls w/ the new SRT-10, if only they'll get even bigger ones w/ the new Dakota. If your gonna make a fast truck go all the way don't make restrictions. I guess Chevy finally realized their fallin behind.

QUAD"kid" I'm not sure about these other guys, But there's my "real" name, And I'm not a member. Should I not post also? I beleive this these forums are for those who have interests in Dodge Dakotas, Including "comparing" them to other such vehicals: Ford, Chevy, Honda, Ect... How many time have you seen a "Member" post about racing a Ford or Chevy? Did you get mad at them for wasting "Bandwidth"? I have found a ton of useful information on this sight, I just don't have the extra cash right now to become a member. Sorry...........

OK, to get off this ridiculous name calling,
Why, and how, can dodge make a 5.9L that only gives like 245 hp? I se these ford and chevys putten these 6.0L and things making 400hp and stuff. I have the notorious wimpy ass non mag 3.9L with the terible 125 hp, back 12 years ago at that. Why does dodge not make powerful engines? I love my truck and dodge but I cant understand this.
About the chevy El whatever thing. I thought it was suppost to have some kick ass hp too. I understood the whole point was to make a truck that had serious hp and compete with Lightings etc. If they wimped out and put a small engine in it, its gonna flop. It does have good looks either. So it wont even make it on people who dont care about hp. Just my $.02

I don't see the problem Quadman. The heading clearly says "New Chevy SS. How hard is it to not click on that subtitle?? Sheesh you obviously wanted to know about it or you wouldn't have looked in the first place. Either that or you feel the need to be a bully.
NOW if the subtitle said "NOS with a 4.7" then you would have a reason to gripe since you are being forced to plow through stuff of no intrest to get the info you want. This world is tense enough as it is. I think we should all just lighten up a little.
However in fairness Quadman this subject probably shouldn't be in Dak performance but rather the misc section but still......
