heres the link. Looks the same as Intense Performance, way cheaper. Other than the tube being plastic I think it would make as much power. Then with a little custom work I could make a heat shield. What do you guys think?

If you're looking for the cheap way out, why not just make your own? It's just PVC pipe, some elbows, and a filter.

I made my own and it works good. Any body with oposing thumbs can do it. Just get some 3 inch PVC and 2 elbos dry fit it first mark it and then take it out of the truck and glue.

I would like to make a model of this on my own. I just wondered if it will make power and torque. My stock truck feels like it is being plugged up. The beast needs to be unleashed.

Most folks have reported that removing the stock air plenum (It has 'blind' passageways in it for tuning) will REDUCE low-end grunt.

Going with a system such as the following will REDUCE lowRPM grunt and improve power above 3K RPM.

I plan on going with a different airfilter at some point so it will SOUND better.

I made a few more changes to the intake on my
truck to make is more of a "cold-air" intake
system.

I removed the rubber flap on the passenger side
and extended the air intake to the grille using
aluminum ducting, and some plastic water piping.
I also installed an aluminum heat shield.
The shield is used to keep hot air being moved
by the fan away from the air input area.

I seen on another post where the stock air hat had a baffle in it. Would using the air hat and K&N cone filter(removing the stock filter box) be about the same as going the whole route of going all the way to the TB be OK for normal driving. I've heard going with the fernco and bend from the TB was a little noisy. I am just looking for a little better, easier running engine and am not a racer. Bottom line question? Is it worth going from the TB with a Z-tube setup or installing a bend at the flex tube coming out of the factory air plentum/removing the filter box and instaling a cone filter.
