Message: This will pretty much answer all your questions:

You can install it in the winter, however, you won't notice a difference until the summer. Read that link and you will understand.
Hope this helps,
Jason

I haven't had any experience with this one, but the other folks on the board seem to just love 'em

Message: you can put in the 180 thermo w/the iat adjuster w/no problem. Haven't tried the plugs yet. I find that sometimes there is a bit of pinging using 87 octane. 89 seems best when the adjuster is on.

Message: This adjuster thing. Will it help out at the pumps? How do you know what settings to use?

Message: Yes...it can help you out at the pumps. It does depend on driving style and engine tune. The best setting is the one for your specific vehicle as they all will vary slightly.
You can download the instructions from this link:
http://www.speedtweaks.net/IAT_Adjuster.htm (Look at the bottom of the parts listing...MSWORD or PDF format).

Message: There is an adjustment knob that allows you to adjust the air temp being registered in the plenum by the iat sensor. From what I have gathered, the optimal setting seems to be about 20-25 degrees colder than the actual air temp (if under 70 degress outside, then turn adjuster off). I haven't noticed a difference at the pump though. It does make a difference on the 'butt dyno' during warmer weather only.
