Subject: do i need the scoop? IP: Logged
Message: i have a 93 4x4 dakota w/318ci and this morning i installed a couple of tow hooks in the front. to make the hooks accessable i had to remove the lower plastc scoop but i was told it is for more than just looks. i was told it was for getting cool air up tp the radiator. is this true, and if so what other purposes besides looks does it serve?

Are you referring to the lower air dam on the Dakota? (Below the front bumper?)

Message: The radiator sits down below the bumper a little, and does funnel air upwards. I have trimmed the corners of my air dam to prevent rubbing and if/when I install tow hooks, will just cut out the parts necessary with an exacto knife.
