CAN I USE A SUMMIT OR OTHER BRAND OF OPEN AIR CLEANER ON TOP OF MY TB? MY TRUCK IS A 93 CC 2WD V8.I THINK THE K&N IS AVAILABLE BUT WOULD LIKE TO SAVE A LITTLE MONEY.

Yup...you sure can.
However, the cold air kits seem to provide slightly better performance in the heat as they're not prone to "heat soak" as the round air cleaners are.
You can easily convert to a intake tube by picking up a '97+ Airhat (3.9/5.2/5.9L) from a Dakota/Durango.
