Just bought a 4.7 and want it to last a long time.
Will a 180 thermo help the motor last longer? And is there a 185 thermo out there?

The 180 will help out in the long run if/when you decide to add additional modifications. As for the 185...most of the t'stats on the market open about 5 degrees hotter than their rated temp. Yup...a 180 opens at 183-185 and a 195 opens 197-200.

I have a 2001 Quad Cab with the 4.7. I want to put a JET stage II module, an Airaid intake, and a throttle body spacer on my truck. The recommendations for the JET require a low-temp thermostat. What is the best to put on and will this make me have to change anything in the computer system besides my addition of the module? Thanks
