Somebody mentioned something about a computer
upgrade for a 2001 4.7. The company I believe was called ASE or something like that. Can anyone give me the number or website so I can
contact them and get some info?

You can not put a chip in our dakotas the prom is hard wired and not removable without soldering,you can get inline chips that plug in the scanner port like the jet but the do not do much as the ecm will adjust the values again,you have to either get a whole ecm or send yours in for flashing and I do not think any one has the right flash for 2001`s yet,i think Im giving up on performance ecm for now.If you want a cheap upgrade that works get the IAT adjuster from speedtweeks it works

I did here that you have to send the whole computer and they "flash" it for you and send it back. From what I heard they claim to be able to do 2001 4.7, take away the speed limiter and increase hp and torque by 10%. premium fuel though. I will get a hold of them and get back to you all.

If you guys are interested we can do a group buy through Kenne Bell, who now offers custom flashing for the 4.7. I think prices start at 349.00 not bad and we may be able to do better!
Let me know, we would need at least a nice group of people to get in if we wanted some savings. Ill set it all up. Let me know

I talked to Mike Leach a few weeks ago and he said they do not have the progrmas for the 2001's yet. But now for the Kenne Bell, I have not heard anything yet, and if they do have the program, then lets hit up a group buy.

Hey Jonas what about the supercharger group buy this ecm upgrade would be usless with a supercharger,when you get a supercharger your better off with less advance than more and if we get the K/B flash what will it do? like remove speed limits and rev limits?Do we have to send in our ecm or do they sell a whole unit?

If your car has a Top Speed Limit, ASE removes it, unless specified by the customer.
