Message: You can run however much the blower and engine will allow...making sure that the engine is built accordingly.
The V6 can handle up to 9-10# within safe limits but I wouldn't push it higher without forged pistons and a strong set of H-beam rods.
I will be upping the boost to 12# eventually but the replacement engine is underway (winter project) to be able to handle it. (Forged Pistons, Carillo rods, massaged crank, etc.)

Message: "Massaged" means polished, oil holes chamfered, and balanced to precise tolerances. (There's a little bit more to it than just that but those are the main modifications).
There's plenty of pistons, rods, and valvetrain components for the V6...it's a 5.2L minus the front two cylinders. Pistons, rods, valves, valve springs/retainers/keepers/rockers, etc., all fit from the 5.2L. Just make sure you use the "Magnum" parts and approximately from the same year or newer.
What i'm using for the new V6:
* JE Forged (Dishtop) Pistons - .030" larger
* SpeedPro File-Fit Rings
* Carillo Rods (H-Beam and already shot-peened)
* "Massaged" Crank (See above)
* .512"/.512" 210/220 114 Camshaft
* Ported factory heads (to Mopar Performance specs with bowl work included - No polished...i'm not running Alcohol or Nitromethane - Polshing is useless in the ports unless you run those fuels)
* More work on the factory intake with a billet belly-pan (got the prototype back)
* 50mm Flometrics TB (already running it for the last 6 months)
It's a winter project which won't be installed until early spring.

Message: I used to run V8's (last car was a BB Chevy that ran 12.2's at 120mph). It's time to be different. ;)
Mike: The 3.9L is based on the 5.2L...same pistons, rods, valvetrain. You can use the Magnum 5.2L pistons/rods/valvetrain in your 2000. (Magnum being from '92+)

Message: Mar: Exactly. I've built V8's in the past...time for something different. :)
Dak2: I thought the same thing until I compared the injector rails and intake manifold. It's the front two...not the rear two.
Kota: Yup...got a set of 5.9L injector rails sitting the garage and need to "modify" them to fit the V6 with a dual inlet for the fuel supply (evens out the rails and the #2 and #4 cylinders don't run lean that way).

Like I said before, I've built and owned many V8's (12.2 @ 120mph on the motor...no S/C or Nitrous in the old BB Camaro) so i've been there already. It's something different.

Message: Not to be a smarta$$ but everything I've seen
(exhaust,heads,valves,etc)points to the 3.9 as having the rear 2 cyl. removed. Unless they turned the engine around and now the back is the front.From what I can tell the fuel rails look
almost the same (- 2 injectors) the front two
are close together (intake valves on 1&3 and 2&4
are next to each other such as (EIIEEI).Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Message: If you really want to get confused:
The Front injector on the passenger side and the rear injector on the driver side are the ones missing. I've compared the fuel rails.
That would mean that #2 and #7 are missing from the 318 to make the 3.9L.
Confused yet?
