Your dakota probably has the 3.55 rear end and the s-10 has a 3.75. He has a lighter truck and will probably beat you off the line but once he gets to about 45 Mph you will kill him because his engine is out of the powerband. To beat him and anyone else on the road get a supercharger or a k&N induction system. Or get the 3.91 rear end from dodge. You are ahead of the game anyways you have one of the most reliable engines build and get better milage then the 4.3.

Hey Mar123, What is the cost difference between a supercharger and air intake system? Whats the difference in difficulty level of installation of both? Negative side effects on engine components of both?
