Message: I was thinking about the IAT adjuster and the resistor trick could be applied to other things as well. What I was thinking that the transmission when cold, shifts at a slightly higher RPM and has firmer shifts as well if I can find out what resistor is needed to fool the computer into thinking that the trans is cold all the time then there would be a quick and easy way to make the trans shift a little firmer.
The only draw back is that I don't know how the trans will react at full throttle. I will do some research and see what I can come up with and see if it will even work. I'm sure Bernd will know.

Message: Already maxed out on adjustment. I tried playing with the internal pressures like minimum throttle pressure but that made the trans so it would not shift out of first at full throttle, also tossed the accumulator springs for firmer 1-2 shift. I just like doing stuff for nearly free that is why I am trying it.

Message: TV cable is Throttle Valve cable. Lets the trans know how much throttle opening there is so it can compensate with more holding force,(more pressure). Only adjust it if the trans is shifting to low or to high of a speed at light throttle. It is the cable that comes to the rear side of the throttle body from the trans. I adjust my truck so that the TV cable is right out of adjustment at full throttle the more pressure the better. Makes it shift a little higher RPM as well.

Message: The firmer shifts are also a product of colder fluid. If you warm your fluid with a tanis warmer the firmer shifts pretty much disapear at colder temps.

Message: CW,
Could you please tell me how to check the pressures in my transmission? Can I personally do this, or is it something a dealer/ shop needs to do? I believe you check it through the ports on the right side of the transmission, but that is about all I know about it. Can you help? My truck has had a problem with hitting the rev limiter at the 1-2 shift when at full throttle. It all of the sudden developed this problem about 6 months ago, and happens often. The dealer is too stupid to figure it out. I have tried adjusting the tv cable a million ways, and it doesn't help. Please let me know if you have any advice/ ideas to cure this problem. Thanks.

Message: My 97 did that and there is a internal throttle pressure adjustment that can be checked but you need a special tool and to drop the pan. You can ask at the dealer and see if he knows what you are talking about.
