Message: well after going to pickuptrucks.com, I was able to see chevys new zz4.3 extreme truck and the awesome silverado SS. I am a big dakota fan, but that silverado ss is just awesome. If it makes the power and number I saw it waould be a very functional well built "true sport truck." It has an extremely roomy extended cab and is still able to run low 14's. I know I know I should wait for the new dakota R/T, but with no idea of what they are doing or if the 5.7 will ever make it into a dakota I have to at least look at the competition. The 4.3 260 hp Xtreme runs 15.4's which is none to impressive for that much power in that little truck. I will have to see, but the SS is a sweet looking truck, definitly better than the lightning.

Silverado SS is a sweet lookin truck, but one slight flaw, its a CONCEPT. New SSR is cool too. BUT Another cool concept is the 1997 Dakota Sidewinder with a 8.0 Liter Viper engine with 600+hp and 700ft*lbs, also has 21" front wheels and 22" rears. oh yeah and its convertable too.
bad thing about concepts is that they dont usually come to production as is or else i would have a 600hp dakota by now :)
but chrylser is known for bringing cars from concept to reality quikly while staying true to concept with cars like the viper and prowler.
