Message: as far as i've heard, yes, you can feel a difference after installing it. it does vary a slight bit depending on what engine you have. as does the installation, though it shouldn't be difficult at all.

Message: Watch for stress cracks near the throttle body on the intake tube. That plastic really likes to crack, it is a brittle material. K and N knows of the problem and will exchange your tube if it does begin to deteriorate.

Message: I installed mine on Christmas (present for my truck from my father - what a great dad!) a few years ago and the difference in the cold air was very noticeable. So was the resulting throttle response. In the summer ... not so much. It'll install much easier for you on your 5.2 than for me on my 3.9. I bet it takes you half an hour after you read through the instructions; we had to bend some pieces so they'd fit and it probably took an hour with vice work and head scratching. I couldn't keep the tires hooked up on the test drive!

Message: I have a 5.2 4xd4 SLT also, and my first mod was the K&N FIPK 2. Then I did a Mopar 3in. cat back exhaust sys which made it sound alot better but not much performance gains. The next thing I did was to install a Black Magic electric fan to replace the factory cluch fan. This made a very noticable difference in acceleration. The only problem is, depending on how hot it is where you live (I live in Phoenix), it can heat up in traffic with the air on. With the air off there is no prob. The most recent thing I have done was to install a set of Ford Motor Sport 19# matched fuel injectors. This made my truck run alot smoother and gained a few HP as well. Other things you can do is get a 180 degree thermostat, a brass cap and rotor and the autolite 3923 plugs.
Hope this helps......
