Subject: No O2 Sensor after Cat?
IP: Logged

Message:
Guys I was observing the underside of my truck after hitting a dog for any signs of damage, luckily none but I noticed that my 01 RC Dak 4.7 5 speed dosent have a post-cat O2 Sensor? Are all of these like this? I was thinking that all of todays vehicles had them? Does this leave me open to taking this cat off and putting a pipe in its place, allowing it to breath better with no ill effects or SES lights? Thanks just snoopin a little!

you have 4 02 sensors and 3 cats.Take a look there is 2 pre cats right after the manifold and then a bigger cat after the y-pipe,the o2 sensors are before and after the pre-cats and your right no o2 after the bigger cat so you could take it off if you wanted too but I think this will make you have too little backpressure and loose Tourqe. Some didnt come with the 3 cats not sure why but I think that is why some people have bad response from installing a cat-back exhaust,I installed a MBRP cat-back and its great more tourqe better all around, could be because we have the 3 cats and there is still good backpressure at the manifolds.I htink you might hinder performance if you remove it but if you do I would be interested in hearing how it works, later

Thanks for that info Art Id say for the sake of loosing backpressure I'll leave the cat alone then. Im in the process of saving up a little cash to buy me a cat-back system for the truck. Which Cat Back you got? I was just gonna do a muffler swap but now Im gonna get either the Gibson Single Exit exhaust, or the one avalible for the R/T's from Mopar, I heard that it fits right up with the addition of an extra hanger over the axle!
