Message: Just got my FB TB 50mm, Took me less than 15mins to install! I took it for a spin, an talk about spinning! OMG! Talk about some low end added power an some upper!
This was installed on a stock 2001 R/T 5.9L with 8k
No doubt there is added power, not maybe or I think so. It's Bad A**
One suggestion would be, get rid of the Stock Air box, before even adding the new TB it sucks 10hp at the wheel (I had it dyno), let alone adding the F&B TB an causing more air to move threw the already poor flow air box.
Personally I wasn't expecting that much of an improvement with just a F&B TB on a stock engine.

Message: I agree completly! I installed the same 50mm F&B last week on my 2000 R/T,and I could tell a big difference also.Low end throttle snap is amazing, and my stock t.b. was modified! The K&N gen II intake helps alot also,a must do mod!But I just finished installing a 9.5" 2400 stall torque converter and shift kit today and I think that bolt on takes the cake, amazing difference, but not for everybody, only if you are planning on going real fast!Changes the entire trucks driving personality.I have 50mm F&B,GenII,Mopar pcm,Jacobs ignition,crower1.7 roller rockers,3" cat back, and now the tranny mods and modified intake manifold next week and headers next month.Still waiting for my IAT adjuster, been almost a month!

Message: BH-RT,
How did your 1.7RR feel the first time you installed them? Would you consider that a to do mod or just something to spend money on?

Message: Anthony & all 5.9 & 5.2 Daks:Well,Here is what I felt and think about all the mods I have to date.I did a custom 3" catback with a 40 series flowmaster first and felt nothing,if anything there was a very slight lose in low end torque, but thats it,sounds awesome though. Then I did the Gen II,huge difference, one of the best bolt ons for sure.My guess is about 15 h.p and 15 to 20 on torque. Then I did the 1.7 roller rockers and pushrods and guideplates from Crower, felt like it pulled harder from 3000 rpm and above, felt smoother all around, but that mod does not send the a$$ dyno off the scale,I think only guys who are aiming to go really fast with alot of mods might want to spend the money on this one.But my guess is about 10 h.p. and 10 ft lbs of torque, but its up high, not low end torque. Then was the Mopar pcm, once again big difference, very good mod,you must run 92 octane, but I didnt buy my truck for gas mileage,if I wanted good gas mileage I would by an import like everyone else. But the pcm definetly adds h.p. and torque,my guess is about 10 to 15 on each h.p. and torque, raises the shift points also in the auto's.Do the 180 thermostat at the same time as the pcm. Then it was the ignition, felt smoother all around, better MPG,pulls harder on top end,but not much. For $600.00,once again, only for the hard core racer in you. After that was the 50mm F&B t.b.,kind of expensive yes,but a really good mod,my guess is about 10 h.p. and 10 ft lbs of torque, better throttle response and again an increase in MPG.Very good mod.And most recently was the shift kit and 2400 stall torque converter, best mod yet!But only if you want to go real fast, not for everyone,it makes drivabilty totally different,MPG goes down, and traction gets much worse, but I was driving my R/T all day and it gets up and goes like nobody's bussiness,it is very all of a sudden, and violent!!Feels like a 50 shot of NOS.I love it! But I think most people would not for a daily driver.Unless you drive it like you stole it.Next is a modified stock intake manifold with shorter runners and opened up a little, rumor is,it is worth about 15 to 20 h.p. 3000 rpm and above,I should have it on in a week or two when I finish polishing it.I will let you all know, then finally Mopar Headers,y pipe and high flow 3" cat.Hopefully be in the high 13's by then,we shall see about December.

Message: Dakrt01,I used a fairbanks shift kit set to the street performance mode and a 9.5" 2400 stall viper converter from Precision Industries(definetly the best one money can buy)but the best isnt cheap, about $800.00 for the converter and hardware and 80 for the shift kit, plus install costs if you cannot tackle the job yourself.I was lucky and got the converter and hardware from a friend for $400.00,but that was a one time deal for me.You can get other converters, but my feeling was I did alot of research and that was the best one,and I want the best parts for my R/T and only want to do the job once.
