Ok .. I took my new 4.7 to the shop to have a body side molding fixed.. I was there waiting for 2:30 hours.. Which is crazy but while I was there.. My friend and I decided to look at the new 2002 model trucks and take them for a ride. I wanted to drive a regular cab 5.9 4x2 and he decided that we needed to race.. So I had him drive the 4.7 l 4x2 regular cab.. I know the managers there now by first name & I'm sure they cringe when they see me.. But that's becides the point. They let both of us drive with out a Sales Person. We took them down the street to a road that runs along side a railroad track set up and took off as the light turned green. I'm almost positive that the reason the 4.7 launched better was because of my slow self jumping on the gas late but reguardless I caught him with out problem and blew past. The 5.9 is DEFINATELLY faster then the 4.7 the only thing I don't have is a video to show you guys...
MESA2000-- you do realize that the 3.9 is a 6 and the 4.7 is a 8.... you'd have to switch out the whole engine not just some parts.

Hayes Chrysler in Atlanta quoted me around $7500 to swap a 360 in place of my 3.9L. You will need a new wiring harness, fuel system, transmission, and possibly rear-end. That's just the tip of the ice-berg. Depending on how much you paid for your truck, (I paid $13,888 for my 3.9L) that's almost half the cost of a new truck. Why not just trade it in?

well the R/T's are 1" lower than other daks, so if you put a lowpro tire on yours without lowering it, it might look weird because of the big gap between the tire and fender.

Check out this site, it helps you understand tire sizes and compare two or more next to each other.

It has always been my experience if you want a lower profile tire with a little more width go up 20 and down 5. Example 235/65/16 = 255/60/16
But don't get carried away. Your fenders are only so wide.

i just got rid of my 2001 4.7l automatic reg cab. it ran a 15.383 @ 86.3 mph stock with exhaust (thats it). i just bought a 2003 4.7l reg cab 5 speed. it ran a best at 14.803 @ 92.53 mph with just exhaust (thats it). i promise on these time slips. i will fax or scan thess bad boys to who all thinks other wise. i also live in oklahoma. thats not always the best temp and humidity for the track. i roll rts up all the time. infact one of my best friends has an rt with: heads, cam, m1, 52mm tb, headers, full exhaust, no cats, electric fan, roller rockers, 3500 stall, slicks and only ran a best of 14.70's. wow what a bang for the buck. i ran what he ran stock. there some more for you to chew on. take car
