Changing the IAT resistance changes the actual intake air temperature that the PCM sees. As a rule of thumb:
Colder = More Fuel and Slightly advanced timing
Warmer = Less Fuel and Slightly retarded timing
Adding slightly more fuel and an a little bit more advanced timing adds a few HP in the mid to top-end.
Yes, you can also do this on your 4.7L.

Message: I would prefer more timing and less fuel at
cruise, for better mpg. And more timing, more fuel
at wot. Can this be done? Or are the two inseperable?
