The Jet chips don't really work on the V8's...just on the V6's. On the throttle body, there's quite a few choices but the best out of the bunch is from Flometrics (http://www.flometrics.com/TBhomepage.html).

Cost wise, QuickD and Hughes Engines have good TB's as well.

I also forgot to add: 180 degree T'Stat and YES on the headers.

Bernd - Any body named Hines from Vance and Hines has plenty $$$$. Load him up with all the good stuff. :-)
Drew - I have the same truck as you. You might want to consider 3.91 gears and a limited slip unit if you don't have it already. I have my 3.91s on order right now.

I have the mopar chip/module. The dealer didnt tell me to use a higher octane fuel. He said that regular gas would be fine. Also do you think mopar headers would be better then after market header from dynomax etc.... I have on my 2001 QC:
Custom Ram-air hood,K&N ram air intake, mopar performance module and dual flowmaster cat-back exaust. Do you think I should put the autolites in?? And any other crap that would make me faster.

What would be the total of the eleven items you gave me a list of that way i can come up with the money.
Seems like it would be pretty spendy.

Actually 10 items. The gears have nothing to do with HP or TQ. How much more would it add...about 20-30RWHP more (max). What you really need to look at though is the efficiency factor. All the mods combined help get more air in quicker and also help it get out quicker. This is what makes power.

Drew: Cost is about $2800 for everything.

Python47: Sorry, they don't make a 2001 Mopar PCM at this time. It's in testing but not released.

Does anyone know if having your stock TB reworked would be suffiecient, or should I buy a New One?

You can do several things to your stock throttle body but does require a steady hand and a little bit of experience with a grinder:

(1) Grind the blocks on the top down to about 1/4" height
(2) Remove the bore air horns from the bore openings
(3) Radius the top of the bore openings at (approx.) a 45 degree angle
(4) Polish the bores just enough to remove any burrs and imperfections.

This can all be done with a Dremel, very fine sandpaper, and some steel wool. However, it's best to remove the throttle plates and shaft for this since the groud off material will work its way into the bushings/bearings on the shaft. Removing the shaft isn't hard, but the screws that are holding the blades in place are either mushroomed or dimpled to prevent removal. (If you use brute force on them, they will snap the heads off and you'll need to send your TB to someone who knows how to drill the screws out.)

Here's two links to pictures of what I did to my old stock V8 Throttle Body:

http://lonestar.texas.net/~bernd/Photos/ThrottleBody_Side.jpg (Mine is on the LEFT)
http://lonestar.texas.net/~bernd/Photos/ThrottleBody_Top.jpg (Mine is on the RIGHT)

It was compared to a Magnum Performance Throttle Body (which was also hand modified). I've since finished removing the grinder sratches and polished the entire top and bores...works excellent! (Not like the aftermarket TB's...there's much more that they do...but is a noticieable improvement over stock.)

Anything that comes with a CARB EO#. JBA Headers, MSD Ignition, K&N Filter (not intake), any cat-back system, Jet Stage-II. Changing out the T'Stat to a 180 will help out as well and won't affect emmissions...neither will the Autolite 3923 plugs.

(BTW: I'm an ex-BAR-90 Smog Tech from CA...still keep up with the updates in CA but haven't bothered with all the new materials.)
