Subject: Shocks for 4X2 IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2001 Quad Cab 4x2 the Eagle LS 16" tires. I find the ride a bit mushy and was wondering what a good shock would be (the Procomp 3000, 9000 or something from PoopBoys). Thanks for any advice...

Message: After lifting my previously owned dakota 4x2 club cab, I talked to several performance shops and professionals and all of them recomended Bilstien over Rancho, Pro Comp, Edelbrock, etc. They are supposed to be excellent for on/off road use but are a little expensive. I think Chevy uses these on their Z-71 package.

Message: Procomp ES9000 are the "same" basic gas charged high performance shock as a Bilstein but a lot cheaper. I've had Bilsteins on my 94 Z-71 and they worked fine but plan on replacing my Dakotas with ProComp b/c of price.
