I love my 318. But if the next time I'm looking at the junkyard and I see a bigger engine I'm gonna probbaly buy it and fix it up. And if I find me a Viper engine and tranny I will be the happiest man alive...if I can afford it.
Because supercharging is cool, jucing the truck is cool. But having an engine as powerful without all that fancy stuff is incredible. Raw American horsepower.
Imagine pulling up to a lightning. And having him brag about high 13's stock. Then you can casually say I don't have a supercharger or juice but if you wanna race your up for it. So the punk will rev his engine up. You'll roll your eyes not wanting the exhaust to tip him off. (I might even rip off my V-8 emblems and put on V-6 ones) The light turns green. All you hear is 10 cylinders pounding as this low riding piece of ABS plastic falls into the distance. (I intend on removing my plastic bumper and upgrading in the future)
Of course I wouldn't race that is ilegal. And I'd also probbaly use the truck to offroad. And realize that a viper engine in a 4X4 Dakota is silly. In part because I'm sure everything including the transfer case would have to be upgraded. But THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS TO MUCH HORSEPOWER!!! I apoligize for the long post. But I've been dreaming of this for a long time.

Chuck let his nephew drive it at firebird raceway in boise on mickey thompson 12x32 spun the tires past 1000 ft mark and still ran 13.08 at 118 translated to nhra books for miles per hour with proper traction it is mid to low 11 second truck being street driven to be a vet eatin viper killer. With factory motor and trans and a lot of computer work to get to work right if you like sport trucks on the street this is it. Email me and I will tell you more about this truck

get real, the v10 sounds like a UPS truck. its a piece of crap, thats why they changed the exhaust tubes so they cross over and dont sound like a UPS truck. ya $15000 motor it a 2 dollar truck!!! get real 400-450 hp lighings get that with a chip. your hennessy upgrages $100000 to get 650-800HP ya sure!! you would need the engine management and wire it to run your gauges, not going to happen. you need to get some women and dream about reality. you people dont have a clue. MERRY CHRISTMAS BUTTHOLE!

bean dip~~ if you are trying to talk up a lightning get real. A single cab or even extended cab r/t with a supercharger and maybe a few other small mods could crush a lightning. And you would still pay less than you would for a lightning straight off the assembly line.

Hey to all you dakota fans but i got to tell you about this. Theres a dakota viper in toronto that has a viper engine and tran that runs 9.5's. Last summer at the track. It's yellow and its bagged VIPER SPECIAL EDTION!!! Ive seen this truck inside and out its go tviper seats gagues and everything its the real deal its the sickiest truck alive.It goes 0-100km in 3.9 sec. he said it took him 8 months to build.

Besides the Hennessy Viper upgrade you could go with a twin turbo Stryker Viper upgrade. That bad boy gives you 1100 horespower and 1300 ft/lbs of torque. Talk about kicking @ss in that thing.

I saw a post on a Viper forum of a guy that had a Hennessey, and he hated it.He said it wouldn't stop spinning until he shifted into fourth.

that kind of power is silly... I love power.. but that is crazy... those guys on the viper club page that have blowers and are putting 1000hp to the wheels say it is nuts... it will spin the wheels at 80 on the freeway with just throttle... they will drop a yamaha R1 in a race from 80... they accelerate like a mid 9 sec car from about 65... that is fu*ki*g fast... I can't imagine a car just blowing a bike off the street... but gosh it would be cool... in a truck you would need 33x18" MT Top Fuel tires to get it to hook up... it would pull the wheels for sure... I need to go sit down... whew...
