the other night i was out cruising in my 93 4x4 dakota W/318ci looking for a 4x4 s-10 or ranger for a little friendly "competition" when some soccer dad in a toyota camry wagon decide to see what i was made of. he dumped the clutch but i took him off the line. a few seconds later he made a fool out of me. what are some relatively simple bolt-ons i could do to get more power? a mechanic freind told me i couldnt do much because my truck has to be smogged and if i wanted to do anything for considerable power increase, it probably wouldnt pass smog here in cal.

Not true you can do alot. from the intake tubes, chips, after cat exhaust. Just make sure the stuff you put on has been carb approved. As far as keeping up with the toyota good luck you are battling alot of wieght and running the old push rod engine which is slow to rev great of the line(torque) but away from the line(horespower) that four banger or v6 will get you because it is quicker to top end power

Soccer dad probably didn't even know he was in a race. He was just going to the store and minding his own business. Hehehe :-)

I do dean. I schoold an eclipse by several miles. A few months ago. I know the guy, he has new exhaust, and modded the crap out of it. Aparently he can't go over 20 in the snow.

My friend has a camrey, best way to beat it is to race starting at the bottom of a hill.
