Message: I know Chrysler calls for their Mopar Trans. Fluid, but has anyone ever tried a Synthetic Gear Oil? If I do use Synthetic Gear Oil would I need to use a Friction modifier?

Message: Yes!!!! Some of the high end synthetic gear lubes already have the additive in them but most do not. I am sure that you go the redlines web site you will see a gear oil that they sell that has the addative already in it. Becareful because they offer several gear oil products and not all of their gear oil has the additive.

Message: I think Mobil 1 states on the bottle that it is suitable for use in limited slip differentials so I would assume it has the additive included.

Message: i use redline 75w90 it has the friction modifier in it .also it's a lot easier to change if you use a suction gun - don't have to remove the cover and much less messy ..

Message: I use a commercial type of gear oil called Lubrication Engineers #607. It does not come with the LS additive. They believe that each auto mfg makes a slightly different additive and you should use the one that was made for their rear ends and not a general purpose type of additive. The LE #607 made my rear end VERY quiet. I also put a Mag-Hytec rear end cover on it. I now holds 4 quarts of gear oil. Mag-Hytec also sells the LE #607 gear oil. Their # is 1-818-786-8325
