Message: next time you have to change your timing chain or you get bored one day go out and check to see if your cam is actually dialed in right from the factory, i mean check the centerline see if it's centerlined properly. Reason i'm saying this is because i used to own a dohc neon and found that both my cams ( and this was not just mine it was all dohc engines) did not have the centerline set properly from the factory, from what i gather this is a common thing with chrysler so i guess it wouldn't hurt to check next time and it's free HP if your cam isn't setup right. This could also explain why some run better then others and some are faster, just a thought tell me what you think

Message: That is a good idea although i am in the habit of buying a new truck every 4 years so it doesnt come up.
However i know a person that works at a chryser assembly plant and he says that ever since mercedies took over chrysler quality control and maintence is garbage.

Message: I read somewhere, maybe a Mopar Mag, that some of Chrysler engines, and others, had their cams retarded for emission reasons. The small blocks that I have overhauled, I could not line up the cams on their STOCK cam gears EXACTLY. The rebuilds, obviously, had new ones installed but even with the stock cams it was difficult to line up the cam exactly.
What do YOU want, emissions, or POWER?
