 Subject: Question about my new 4.7L Durango

Hey people. Well, we bought a 2001 Durango SLT+ with auto, 4x4, 4.7L engine, and the works. She is red and beautiful. One thing: I DID NOT SEE ANY SPARK PLUG WIRES OR DISTRIBUTOR under the hood!
What is that about? How do you fire the fuel? Also, the tranny feels a little quick to hop out of OD going up hill.
Any thoughts?

Nice ride!!
You are correct, there are no plug wires or distributor-plugs fire by 'magic'!!!
Seriously, each plug has its own coil, no need for that other stuff.

No problems with this truck at all. I think the assembly line folks knew what a great package it was and they did their best to make me a good one.
Now if I can just get it out of the body shop I'll be happy(long story but it's gonna be OK).

John, if your D is in the shop, you are gonna love this:
After my wife and I drove our Durango off the lot, we had lunch right down the street from the dealership. While we were eating, so mutha-f***a majorly DINGED the right passenger door! I swear i was about to cry! We had not had it 30 minutes and some a-hole DINGED my brand-spanking-new truck. Bunch of savages in this town...
On a lighter note, I got the MSD for my Dakota today. I will let you know how installing it goes...
