Message: it does help and i too also have a 3.9l v6. What i have found on my 2001 is that if it's about 80 degrees out and i set it to about 12:00 it tends to run ok but it seems to like the 10:00 and the 11:00 positions the best. At night though i leave the box off because i have found that where i live at night it gets kinda cool and the box either has no real effect or causes the truck to run too rich if set to high. I have also been testing it at night and found that setting it to the 8:00 position when temps are below 70 degrees seems to make my truck happy every other setting makes it run too rich. Throttle response is improved and the get on it and go power is much much better and throttle is consistent all the way to the boards, you know instead of bogging slightly then accelerating it just accel's harder and harder as you increase the pedal.
mods: homebrew intake with 9" k&n, iat adjuster, dynomax muffler, accel 300+ 8.8 race wires, autolite 3923's, borg warner cap and rotor kit,

Message: How effective would an IAT adjuster work on an everyday street setup that never sees the strip, and what would it do for gas milage?

Message: I'm not sure about everyday street use, I'm sure that if you like to get on it every once in a while that you will like it, because it supposed to give you approx. 10 to 20 hp, not sure about torque, but if you want to know about the gas mileage then I would ask Bernd.

Message: The reason I say everyday street use is because the IAT is supposed to automatically adjust for tempterature, and in a street app most (including myself) don't want to have to pop the hood and adjust a knob every time we go out for a drive. Though that would be perfectally acceptable in a drag race scenario.
And yeah, I romp on it quite a bit. I live in a hilly area and commute 25 miles to a flat area, 1000' elevation diff mostly in a 4 mile strech over 2 grades.

Message: That's the beauty of the IAT adjuster, Demon. The adjuster box is inside the cab -- with a toggle switch. You want it off, you hit the switch. You want it on, you hit the switch. I just put mine in the glove box....easy access.

Message: I dunno about the rest of you IAT adjuster guys, but I found a totally empty grommet on the passenger side firewall. Gave me about 2' of cable to play with that I coil up in the glove box. When the time comes and you wanna play you just uncoil the wire and adjust it from the driver's seat.
Have FUN!

Message: I am just going to tape mine up and hope they don't notice, but that is a good ?. I have the same ? about the TB as well. Am I going to have to change everyting back to stock before I take it in for issues. I think that I would if I were having engine issues. Has anyone had any experiences on going back to the dealer with a mod and them tell you to take it off? or that they wouldn't fix it because of the mod?

Message: I believe that the burden of proof is on the dealership. They have to prove that the modification that you did was yhe DIRECT cause of the problem.
