i was wondering how well air raid performed on the dodge dakota. 3.9L v6 manual. air raid company claimed 10 - 12 hp gain.

I dont know about the manual trans, but my brother has a 4spd auto, and when he installed it, he said that he could tell a difference on take-off, and top-end, and it does'nt hessitate as much on coming out of the hole. He likes it.

I put on the airaid system and it is awsome . When you accelerate it hums when your are gasing it hard. Its the first upgrade i did.

The Airraid connects to the existing TB hat, right? I read that it blocks a portion of air through the throttle, that K&N & direct attaching kits were more efficient. I was interested in the airraid, and also the QuickD for the nice look they have, but ended up going K&N, will let you know the results when I get it.

the airaid is a damb k&n, it awsome. It uses the same hat but has the fat auminum piece to connect the Hat to the filter.

The only difference is the Airaid replaces the airbox only, where the K&N replaces the TB hat, air intake tube and box. The difference, power wise, between an Airaid and the K&N would be little to nill. The accordian tube can be replaced with a smooth piece of hose for cheap and the TB hat can be replaced with a nice metal one from Vortec I think. The K&N does look cleaner but the guys who have already bought an Airaid or can only afford the Airaid at this time don't have anything to worry about!

I though the K&N only fits the 4.7 and above. And where have u seen thos metal TB hats at.

I know Bernd has one on his truck. It is stronger as far as not blowing off under boost with the blower he has. I know krcperformance.net includes them in their 3.9 V6 supercharger kit but they don't list them seperately. Shoot them an email. He is good about responding. I feel like I've bugged him enough. I'll email him more after I actually purchase something from him!

The 5.2/5.9 K&N will fit our truck with minor modification. Check earlier posts for more info on that.
