for Gibson exhaust , and even Raven exhaust ...
which I've tried and though it sucked, doesn't
anyone run a Dynomax exhaust? are they that bad?

Message: Well, I don't run a full blown Dynomax exhaust setup, but I did replace the factory muffler with a Dynomax UltraFlow muffler. First I put a Flowmaster 40 on it and didn't like the sound, so I made the switch to Dynomax. I LOVE the sound! Rest assured that when I put duals of some sort on that they will have the Dynomax name stamped on them!
If I could figure out a good way to capture a sound clip I would let you hear it, but I haven't had much luck with my laptop.
Can't say how it would sound on your V6, but the 5.9 rumbles it pretty good!

Message: We put a dynomax super turbo #17698 on our 2000 4.7l 4x4 quad cab. Not much louder than stock when cruising but sounds excellent when accelerate. It is a 3 inch in and out but shop welded it to the 2.5 pipe.

Message: I hightly recommend the dynomax super turbo muffler. I had a muffler shop put it in and custom bend the pipes for a single inlet dual exit and keeping the spare. I love the way it sounds!! At idle you almost have to press the gas to make sure it is idling.(This while you are in the driver's seat) Inside resonance isn't annoying at all. I was scared the flowmasters would give me too much interior resonance on long trips. This one does sound mean though at WOT. Hope this helps. The entire setup on mine ran a little under 300. Watch the pipes though because I lost low end by getting too big of pipes. I think they said 2 1/2 are the best because of the back pressure. Someone can correct me if I am wrong. C-ya.

Message: Well mlp... I'm sorry to hear about your bad "Ravin" experience... could the fact that you have a V6 have something to do with it...?
It sounds pretty good on my V8 though..

I originally had a Dynomax Super Turbo installed on the Dak and it sounded EXCELLENT on a V6. It just wasn't what I was used to (Flowmaster) which is why i'm running that muffler brand instead. I've also tested the Ravin and they're not worth the money Midas charges for them.

Message: Hey Bernd...
I gotta question... you said that the Ravin is not worth the money they charge for it... Why is that?
Is that based on sound versus the other options? Or performance? Or both?
I took a look at Speedtweaks and it basically said that there was relatively not much difference between the different muffler offerings... is that true?
Going by that assumption...(without regards to cost) would you say that the Ravin is "just as good" as any other brands... which basically leaves it down to "preferences"?
I am still learning more and more about all of these things, however since I am not "automotive mechanically inclined" (LOL) I tend to have to have to go with options where others can guarantee the work...hence buying it from Midas who guarantees for life.

Message: I have the 2001 4.7 with a Ravin dual exhaust with 3 and 1/2 stainless steel tips. It sounds aswome. I had a dynomax system on it and it wasn't loud enough. If you like a deep sounding exhaust, Ravin is the way to go.

Message: I had a V-6 Dakota before my RT. It had a 2 1/4 high flow cat and a Dynomax cat back made for a later model V-8. The truck had a nice rumble at idle, low resonance at highway speed, and sounded like a V-8 when accelerating. Everybody thought the truck was a V-8 from the sound. I loved the one I had. This truck will eventually get a 3" pipe from the Y to the cat, Random 3" cat and a 3" Ultraflow, making it a true 3" system front to back.

Message: I have a 00' QC V6 with the dynomax 3" catback. I think that it gives the V6 a great sound and nice performance. The exhaust alone took away my low end torque but the addition of JBA headers and a airaid intake gave it back for the most part. I think that once I get a new throttle body on that everything will be perfect.

Message: i have a dynomax p/n 17733 2 1/2" in and 2 1/2" out on my 2001 3.9l v6 and to say the least "this thing has one hell of a sound to it " After i got my exhaust done i went down to my buddy's shop for an oil change and his boss jumped in the truck and started it up and pulled it in and said " WOW that's a great soundin v8 " i said " sorry man but i hate to burst your bubble but that's only a v6 " he said well ya coulda fooled me it sounds fantastic. So, all in all i love the muffler and i didn't change the stock piping at all this provided great lowend and nice topend pull.

Message: i just put a dynomax on my inline 6 4.0 jeep grand cherokee jeep. at idle it was quite but on the take off, its deff. loud enough to turn heads. no doubt about that. but the day after i put it on i smelled somthaing burning so i pulled over (with the jeep running) and exhaust was pooring out of the bead that keeps everything togeather. so idk if its on backwards or not. there was no flow arrow pointing to a specifec direction. so i put it on the way my stock one came off. but i think its defective.
