Subject: Speedtweeks IAT Adjuster Question IP: Logged
Message: I just Installed Speedtweeks IAT Adjuster and can really tell the difference. Throttle response is better and power is more noticable (not sure about gas mileage yet) But I have a concern, if I'm running the motor richer and more advanced a lot, with the adjuster set @ 12 or above, is that going to wear or damage my Cat or emmisions systems? And isn't the IAT adjuster doing the same thing as a performance chip, but more adjustable.

Message: are you suggestin that the iat richens the mix? it can, but by turning it up, you'll have a leaning effect.
running really really rich could eventually clog your cats. I believe. But you're doing more harm to your engine, i'd worry about that first. And it will screw an emissions test.

Message: I thought turnning it up to the 12 - 2 o'clock position was running more rich with fuel along with advancing the timing afew degrees....? Do I have it backwards?
Hey Bakerman:
I finally got my intake together today (filter finally showed up Thursday) Anyway, I ended up using ABS 90 degree off the TB and a straight pipe with the filter on the end. The filter tip rests right on the computer by the fender. You guys were right, it sounds AWESOME! My gas milage now sucks because my foot is always in it off of the lights.. :)
