Subject: Drop blocks good/bad? IP: Logged
Message: Okay a 2/4 drop will level my truck but then, in my opinion, it would be too low. I want to add RT wheels eventually so I want to keep it pretty much stock height. I do want to level it though so I was thinking of 2" drop blocks for the rear. Will it ride rough? I can't see really why it would. But, on the other hand, I really haven't looked over the suspension to see what 2" blocks would actually affect. Anyways, any opinions would be helpful. I do think dropped trucks look great but just not for me. Level is fine.

Message: I have decided to do a 2/2 drop. Blocks really won't efect anything in the rear end especially only 2". They aren't as good as droped leaf spring however just because it's more stable having the axle mounted to the springs than jaked up on blocks. I am going 2"/2" just because it's a little higher than I wanted stock but I don't want it slammed either because it looks to teenish for me. I am leaving the rear end slightly higher also for it gives it more of a musle car/truck look than level. Besides I do use my truck as a truck also.

Message: Using blocks will make your leaf springs more visible and not only will they lower the rear of your truck, but they will lower the springs as well, causing you to lose ground clearance.
I'd like to do a 1/2 or a 1/2.5 drop on my truck, but I'm holding out for drop leaf springs. From everything that I've heard, changing the shackles and/or hangers are way too much hassle for a moderate drop.

Message: Here is some food for thought. Blocks increase axle wrap.

Message: Here is my suggestion and also what I plan to do! Aim offers Chassis Tech Springs for our trucks in a 2/3 drop. Coil springs for the front and Leaf springs for the back and I have a hellwig rear swaybar coming in a couple of weeks! Also I am looking at the Kenny Brown X brace also made for our trucks. I want my truck to handle bad ass, so that it will support any and all engine mods that I decide to throw at it!!! Also cbsdakota check your email, I sent you one with a few questions in it!! Hope I can be of help!

Message: they are easy. how low do you want to go?
you can go spindles, and coils in the front, and leafspring, blocks, or hangers in the rear.
if you want the frame on the ground, bagg it.
