Sorry Guys but im still working on the interior and its starting to get a little worn out but when racing season ends then i'll have some extra dough to start working on the inside. I have done work on this Dakota all on my own and i think she has come out quite nice. There are some guys in here that have gave me some good ideas and advice and my hats off to them and really appreciate all of their comments and encite. If I ever get this ole bucket of a Dakota done (hehehehehe) which seems like a never ending story.Yesterday i had to have the winsheild replaced and about 2 months ago someone decided they wanted my Stereo more than i did. The inside Mods are gonna be minimal would like to find a set of buckets from a GenII with brackets and make a custom console and I plan on installing a custom made dash with Autometer gauges,also the carpet is starting to show signs of age this Dakota is 12years old in December and i have owned her since day one. I decided to keep her for a long time. Well enough rambling on YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST keep up the good work. REMEMBER DODGE IS AN ATTITUDE not just a Truck

I'm not a fan of the Gen I Dakota, but I really like the Gen II and III Dakotas. To each their own!

Sharp truck. Although Gen 1's might not be the sportiest looking, they're the only ones that were available in convertible form. I've got an '89 Sport conv't which is getting there as I've been restoring it in stages. The interior, roll pan, and custom fibreglass bed cover are this winter's project. What brand is your roll pan? Was it bolt on? How was the fit & finish on it.

WTF ...all u guys do is bitch...jeeez...all those posts and noone even answered the original thread name...who cares what size it is...just give the poor guys with v6's a list of hop-ups and let them decide what engine they want and how they wanna spend their money....by the way...i own a 98 dak sport w/ a v 6...and i love my dakota...best dam truck on the planet...even if it does only have a v6...but i will tell u guys this....when i mount the 318 in it....bet u dont touch it!!!!!....lol.....just my 2 cents worth too....

god damn old a$$ posts bein revived.
my thoughts on this. DON'T BUY V6 DAKOTAS!! WORST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE!! I COULD HAVE HAD A DECENT CAR OR TRUCK WITH GOOD POWER BUT I HAD TO GO FOR LOOKS(WHICH NOT EVERYONE THINKS ARE THAT GREAT). NOW IM STUCK DRIVING A FREAKIN SENTRA AND THE SICK PART OF THAT IS THAT I LOVE IT BECAUSE THE V6 WAS SO HORRIBLE. IF I HAD GOTTEN A V8 I'D STILL BE ON THIS BOARD.
BOTTOM LINE:
THE MAGNUM 3.9 V6 IS ONE OF THE THREE WORST ENGINES YOU CAN POSSIBLY GET IN A NEW CAR/TRUCK. THE OTHERS BEING THE S10s 4.3 AND THE MUSTANGS 3.8. 3.0+ LITERS SHOULD BE PUTTING OUT AT LEAST 200HP. AND 5.9 SHOULD PUT OUT OVER 350. CRAP CRAP CRAP. DON'T COMPLAIN ABOUT V6S...U DESERVE THEM CUZ YOU WERE DUMB LIKE ME, BUT NEVER SAY YOU ARE GLAD U GOT A 3.9 RATHER THAN A 4.7 BECAUSE THAT IS JUST STUPID.

F**k a v-8.....the 5.9 aint all that anyways...for a modern day v-8 it in itself is under powered....as for my v-6 i bought it 1 owner off a carlot with 28,000 miles on it for 7,800 bucks...dam good deal if u ask me...v-6 or no v-6.... so if i come in here asking for hop-ups for a v-6 i would appreciate the help of dakota lovers to help me find the goodies...not post 2500 stupid posts as to why i didnt buy a v-8....god give the serenity....lol....u guys crack me up...ANSWER THE MANS QUESTION...if i could i would but i myself am in the beginning stages of fixing up my dakota....peace....
