Will adding a airaid or home brew air intake add low end torque? if so how much on a 97 3.9L?
Thanks

Rob I have tried everything to gain low end torque on my 2000 3.9L V6. Airaid, Flowmetrics TB, Jet II, relocated IAT sensor, cap-rotor, and wires. Don't get me wrong they all have made a difference (still fighting the 18 over ticket!) but it all seems to be above 2500 rpm. The power really comes on at 3K. After talking to Bernd and checking out other posts I believe my next step will be 3.92 gears in the rear end. Have to see how much the ticket hurts first.

Rob, did the jet stage II work good on your motor? I have heard they work crappy on the 5.2 and 5.9, work ok on the 4.7, but never heard a definate answer about the 3.9L.

Have you taken your truck to the track to see what is runs? Would like to compare yours to mine :)

Rob, I have the airaid intake on my 2001 3.9 QC with flows. it works well, and I'm pretty confident that it added about 10 to 15ftlbs of torque, that is what the manufacture said it produced. Airaid is a good choice for the money, hope this helps.
