Is it a good buy, performance wise? Any gains noticed? Any problems issues?

Your opinions/comments are appreciated!

Josh,

Not to knock the Jet II cause it did work on my 4.7. I've just had some reliability issues with it.

Don't know what motor you have, but as long as it's in a Dakota, I can't recommend the IAT adjuster enough.

See the 'WOW' post on this board for reinforcement.

well, i would say (and my butt dyno says) that the chip provides better acceleration off the line....

i have heard (from other people on this site) that its not a good choice for the 5.2 engine, but that it works well for the 3.9 engine.

you need a 180 tstat and premium fuel according to JET....

I also have success with the JET Chip II on my 4.7

I ran both 89 and 93 octane and went back to 89 with no drop in performance gain.

Do note that I have a 180 t-stat, z-tube w/9 inch Pro Flow filter, Flowmaster cat-back and 3923s.

IAT adjustor will be going on, will have to play around and see what works best for performance gains.

Hey Mace,

Let me know how your Jet vs IAT comparison goes.

I Gteched both on back to back weekends and had tons 'o' fun.

Kinda hard on the tires but fun!!!!!

Hi everyone,

I appreciate all of your info.

What seems to work best? IAT or JET?

I have an IAT install right now, but I rarely turn it on, I don't know why. Maybe I should start? In the a.m., its below 70 here in MN, and in the afternoon, barely above 80. For normal day-to-day driving, I probably won't use it. Plus I ride my motorcycle on beautiful days like today anyway.

If I get a JET, do I need premo fuel or is it ok to run 89? If I run Premo with the IAT, are there any noticeable gains?

Regarding the upgrade chips, are they just ROM chips or are they actual MCUs?

Hey johnc you stated that you had both the IAT adjuster and the Jet stage 2??? I was wondering how it works for you, cause i have a 4.7 and look to doin both. I also heard that they counter product eachother? But then again i would trust someone who has both and knows what they do together. thanks

JKCLNS,

Sorry, didn't mean to confuse the issue.

In my experience they cannot be used together. The Jet alters the IAT signal somehow as does the IAT adjuster.

With both being used at the same time, truck ran real bad cause they seem to interfere with each other. That's when I decided to Gtech them seperately over 2 different weekends.

I retired the Jet II and only run with the IAT adjuster now.

Johnc,

I think you may have just saved me near $300 for my troubles with a Jet 2. Thanks. Now I can look at headers or a T.B.

Does anyone have Dyno results with the IAT or the JET 2? Bernd?

Even if the JET CHIP II and IAT adjuster don't work together, I'm gonna keep both as 5-6 months out of year where I live, it will be below 65, where the IAT adjuster offers no performance gains.

For my 4.7, that is when the JET CHIP II is worth the bucks spent.

Hey Mace,

You have a good point. That's the reason I didn't return the Jet, just retired it. Figured I'd retest at some point when we get cool weather.

Only problem is cooler weather is very short lived in So. Fla.
