Subject: Help(Sulfer smell) IP: Logged
Message: When driving my dakota 3.9 v6 on the highway at aprox 100km/h or 60mile/h, I get a sulfur smell when the truck has to climb a hill. IT seems when the truck comes under a load going up a hill at high speed, it lacks power and gives a rotten egg smell. Any ideas, what this may be?

Message: any time you get a rotten egg smell it is usually your catalatic(spelling?) converter. if it is a newer dak then it is most likely covered by the 10/100k emissions warranty from the factory. either way get it fixed because its not great for the truck, but it is even worse for you, because of the chemicals that are creating the smell. take it to the dealer and tell them it smells like rotten eggs, most likely they will take care of it.
