Just wondering has anyone tried a flex fan with a V8 and a fan clutch.I have done this in the past and was looking to see if anyone has this setup.I would be puting it in a'97 5.2 with a under drive on the crank only.

DO NOT get one. they ROB more power than a stock clutch fan. i saw this in a mag., over an electric fan a clutch fan robs only 10-12 hp, a flex fan robs 20-25 hp. not to metion they sound like a tornado coming.

I think you are talking about a flex fan when the clutch is removed.The setup I and thinking of going with is flex fan on the fan clutch.The clutch will only rob a set amout of power per rpm differential(unless it's hot and locked up) and the flex fan should pull more air in at low speed.The flex fans have proven to pull more air with less power at a given rpm.At high speeds it should flaten out and spin easier thus reaching a rpm closer to that of the clutch and taking less power.My question is has anyone pulled the stock fan of the clutch and put a flex fan back on the clutch? http://www.flex-a-lite.com/auto/flex1500.htm

Sorry worng web address, corect one is http://www.flex-a-lite.com/auto/4600.htm , part #1818 is the one I think I used in the past(stainless blades)but I am out of luck that fan is standard rotation.
