Subject: v8 power from a v6?
IP: Logged

Message:

I have heard of a number of guys talk about their performance modified V6's blowing the doors off of stock 5.2's. I have a 2000 dakota and yes money is a huge factor (as I'm a full time student) but I want to get this thing fast and I'd like to know the best way possible. Also, superchargers? Are they made for the V6 engine?

V8 power from a V6:

Powerdyne Supercharger, Flometrics Billet Thtorrle Body, JBA headers, and a good catback system will get you that...all for under $4000.

I'm pushing 250HP and 330TQ (at the crank) from my '97 V6. :)

Hi all!! I found this page looking for headers for my 96 3.8 chevy camaro headers, I have cold air induction, polished and ported heads and it alone eats 5.0's for lunch. So a V-6 can beat a V-8. I am having alot of trouble finding a set of headers for my car. If anyone can help me out it would greatly appreciated, thanks.

Hey calm down with dogging V6's... Im an R/T guy but still any decent sized V6 can do a number of amazing things sometimes even more than what an 8 is capable of.

My dad owns a Grand National :P so im sort of a 6 sympathizer even though i own an R/T also hehe

Mike: The RKSport V6 header system offer individual tubes that are 1 3/4 in. in diameter with 3/8 in. flanges. Each system includes flanges at the end of the main header section, and the "down" pipe for the connection between the header pipe and the catalytic converter. All header systems come with ceramic coating and are manufactured from extremely strong 14-gauge steel. (1993-1995 3.4L V6; 1995-1998 3.8L V6)

Go get yourself some headers now. :)

Nick totalled the truck several months ago. But yes...that's what a turbo and a custom cam (with other items) can do to a V6. :)
