i am lookin to replace my 00' 3.9L w/a 4.7 or a 5.2L engine.Has anyone done this before & if so has anything gone wrong or made you wish you didn't swap engines. Also what all would i have to replace or change in order for the 8 to go in. And if you know where i could get it or how much it would cost would be alot of help.Any other advice is greatly appreciated.

I have done the 3.9 to 5.2 swap. I had to change the trans, PCM,engine and trans wire harness. you can use the old power stearing pump and everything else but what you might have a problem with is useing the V6 A/C system... the lines on the V6 are shorter and might not reach... but other than that it is simple.... also you might want to change the springs on the front end... my nose sags a little but it isnt enough to bother me

Just raid the junkyard for what you need. If you get a v8 truck, take the engine, mounts tranny, shaft, needed wiring harness, etc. IT is very easy and worth it. Just make sure you have a strong enough rear for the swap.
