The pads you refer to are the factory swaybar mount pads where the bushing attaches, when I replaced the factory bar on my 99 I used the attach hardware and mounted the Heliwig bushings in the retainers I did not use there U bolts, worked just fine.

The dealer should be able to get the attaching hardware.Four bolts and the cap/mount that fits over the bushing. You should find nut plates attached to the mount pads, one forward and one aft of the axle. I had no trouble with mine, but check for clearence at the differential becaues if I remember correctly the bar will fit either way.

Hey Doug, how'd you like the bar? I'm thinking about a hellwig for my RC V6.

Like it 2000% better than factory bar,end links are much better no plastic dog bone.I installed it after I had the Road master system so I had to set the tension on this down because after installing the sway bar my rear end wanted to pass the front, all was fine after that. Will be much better than your 1/2 inch diameter factory bar if your's was the same size as mine.

Actually, don't have anything back there yet - the handling package only comes with rear sway on CC's; mine's a RC. So I guess it'll be 3000% better for me! :-)

Boy, if it's that much better, mebbe I should spring for the front one too. Thanks!

Backed the suspension off about 1/2 the factory spec.Zaurusman if you have no constructive input you should say nothing,it seems there to many that have to have input just to be noticed.Your childhood must have been lonely, would only hope that you have better manners in public.

thanks doug - what happened before you backed off the active suspension ? how was it riding ? ( by the way i think its a great product ) and rather than a quarter gap you are up to about 35 cents?

Gee that's odd, Doug; I always thought it was polite to thank someone for helping me, and to criticize people's manners in private rather than public (sorry; you don't have an email link). My mistake. I could care less about being noticed. I guess if someone has a question I shouldn't add that I want to know too though I like it when someone does that when I first ask, etc. And I should just reply with "thanks" instead of adding my conclusion to show how they helped me come up with it.

If I come off that way, I guess it's because I'm enthusiastic about Dakotas (esp. mine) and see this as a fairly casual board, but I'll reduce my posts after this.

Dakotakid At the factory setting of the width of a quarter,2mm, the ride height was rasied about 1 inch in the rear. This was a bit high for me as I'm not carring much weigth in the bed, and seemed to put more brakeing action on the front. The gap is down to approx 1mm from 2 and with the Hellwig swaybar the backend no longer trys to pass the front in a tight turn and when the bed is loaded the ride height is about where it came from the factory.
