Message: You may be correct, aftermarket filters may FLOW better but that is not a big issue. Basic physics tells us that the butterfly valve in the throttlebody is ALWAYS the point of most restriction in that intake. (Except perhaps at WOT)
Given the above fact... better FILTRATION is the choice of most folks that know engines from the inside. Just because somone is SELLING a filter that flows better does not mean that it is better.
Perhaps on the track where WOT is a way of life and there is a spare engine in the pit might one choose more flow... but in that case many engine builders run only velocity stacks with no filter at all.
