Subject: 4.7 ideas IP: Logged
Message: I have noticed that a few have had rocker arms drop off and
they and their mechanics wonder why. Nobody as far as i have
seen suggest looking at valve springs for float failure of the
springs i wonder if there are valves springs with stronger
pressure thus holding the rocker arm under stronger tension
thus preventing the spring from floating out from the cam...
also wonder does the push rod pass oil up to the head. If so
would drilling the rocker tip out help maybe keep oil pressure
from pushing too hard against rocker arm ..if some one has
done this what is the result.???. Also is anyone playing around
with custom cams... final question can i chaffer out and
enlarge head oil drain back ports thus helping eliminating the
sludge issue..i have a 4.7 i am playing around with and wonder
if these ideas would help with recurring issues for the 4.7.
Thks
