Subject: FMS injectors for stock? IP: Logged
Message: I'd like to know if the FMS 4-hole, 19# injectors would waste more gas in an engine with little-to-no modifications to it?
I'm trying to INCREASE my fuel economy and I keep seeing posts about the Ford Motor Sports 19#.
Thanks

Message: it'll increase mileage some because of the better atomization. IF you can keep your foot out of it.

Message: That O2 sensor closest to the exhaust manifold is responsible for maintaining a proper air/fuel mix, and will do so as long as the engine computer can control the injector. There is no "gas waste" as niebs said, if you can keep your foot out of it.

Message: I was wondering, since there is 4 holes on the FMS injector,
would that spend more fuel?

Message: No it will not. I think the factory 21lb/hr injectors can support up
to about 350 to 375 hp but they use them on a stock 175hp
V6. The PCM can handle them and adjust pulse width to
control the flow.
