Message: Instead of compensating with more air, try a better ignition system. I have an accell 300+ digital system (its plug and play, easy to install) or you coud go with an MSD of Crane system, any one will do the same thing. Hot coil+ mutliple sparks= really clean emissions. I'm up in Ontario Canada, and we have California specs for our emissions, Mine are so low I've never had a problem in 10 years

Message: High nox readings on a 94 could also be from a bad
or malfunctioning EGR valve or it's electronic
solenoid/switch.
You also need a cat on that motor & not gutted, Also
make sure there are no exhaust leaks before the cat.

Message: your absolutely right about that every great once in
a while it pops a code for the egr system but then
its off for months at a time.. have a cat not gutted
and no holes but this has been a problem since
before i modded it could it still be the egr?

Message: Other symptoms a bad/faulty EGR can cause,
Poor idle, Poor gas mileage, Engine pinging.
Make note, The reason I mentioned you need a cat and
no exhaust leaks, The EGR will not work properly on
those motors otherwise.

Message: If you were to pull the codes you would find the
code for the EGR is still there, Stored/saved.
There has been problems with 3in. on the 3.9's
Check for the stored codes, If the EGR still shows
up, Get a new one. If the trouble shows up again
you can try capping your 3in. pipe with
a short 3 - 2 1/2in adapter.
Glad to offer what help I can.

fail prematurely

Message: No, Install the new one, clear codes by leaving neg.
off battery.
If the code reappears then try capping the exhaust
pipe like i said.
I'll check back from time to time see how it goes,
Give me an update.

Message: Won't be as bad as you thought, Two bolts and 1
electric plug. It's easy to get to.
Be sure to clean the EGR port and surface before
install (most likely heavy carbon)
and use a new gasket. (should be included)
