hey guys.. well i got a 97 dakota v8 5 speed not too long ago and its pretty awesome. the only problem is it has no 4x4 linkage/arm. i've looked all over my area and even been referred to a different state but they just sold there last one. im assuming they never made more of this part? or its just in high demand. i have no idea why someone would take the 4x4 link off the truck in the first place .

If anyone knows more about this part maybe the real name of it, and if i could get referred to an awesome Dodge parts site. i've heard its called transfer case linkage, 4x4 linkage, linkage arm. but i dont know what to call it when for when im looking around everywhere for this super rare part.

Do you know what parts it connects together? Your 4x4 linkage description is very vague.

all i know is that its the arm that sits by the stickshift and it changes 2WD to 4x4 high and low range. i need to find out what its called and a site or place where i could find one.

That is the transfer case shifter and linkage. this should not be hard to find, any junkyard with a 4wd dakota between 97 and 2000 should be able to provide you with that. if you still have the shifter then all you need is the linkage from the shifter to the transfercase.
