Trying to find out how hard is it to replace the fuel filler neck. I got a check eng light and the dealership repair shop says it a filler neck and the fuel cap.

Yup, do the cap first. Look at the rubber gasket on your old cap. Does it have a bunch of cracks in it? Replace the cap.
